Chagrin

Just got back from a 24 hour trip over the weekend w/ Debbie to see sister Kristin,
husband Mark, and their 6 year old twins, Allison, and Zack.  I had Kristin drive us
to a neat little town called Chagrin Falls, in an old and picturesque suburb of Cleveland.

There is a small river that flows thru the town, and drops over
an unusual and large rock plateau just under the main street bridge,
and forms a beautiful waterfall, which is overlooked by several fine
restaurants, and an old Starbucks.   It is an especially beautiful place

during the Christmas season, but carries it’s substantial charm thoughout
the warm summer months.

It is a quaint, old, preserved slice of Rockwellian Americana, and the guy who used to
write the comic "Calvin and Hobbes" is from Chagrin Falls.  He drew the town
on the back of one of his books, featuring a giant Calvin terrorizing the
town, and carrying the iconic 100+ year old "Popcorn Shop" on the bridge.

We had a lovely day there, and obviously created some lasting memories,
because, as we pulled out of town, I asked A & Z what they liked most about
this cute little town, and they said "the ice cream".  When I asked, "What else?",
they said, "the playground", in the park across from the "Popcorn Shop",

where they also remembered feeding the geese.
Good thing we drove 45 minutes for that.

I guess I can show them the pictures of the waterfall, to see if they’ll remember that….
