Ate at Gene's, Lemon Drop, Toast, Art's, Frisch's, and Pizza King when I was home on Spring Break last month. There are several of those "Anderson Only" restaurants that I so love. I have loads of memories from those places. My wife and I also worked out at the Anderson YMCA, which is great, by the way.

I absolutely loved this piece. Everyone single person has felt this exact way at some point. I had a similar situation (dog sighting in 5 lanes of traffic)coming home from a greyhound gathering in Gettysburg...you have no idea how many times i have thought about that and kicked myself. How could i call myself a 'rescue' person when i drove on by because 1) and i had two greyhounds in the van with me and 2) inconvenience of pulling over on busy hiway. For years, that dog has haunted me. And you are so right about the homeless...why is it easier for us to help animals than our fellow humans in need? Hmmmm...

Anyone interested in the Buffalo Commons idea should look at my website, policy.rutgers.edu/faculty.popper. The idea originated with me and my wife Deborah Popper, a geographer at the City University of New York/College of Staten Island and Princeton University. The Buffalo Commons idea has no necessary link to the Sagebrush Rebellion idea of selling off the federal lands from the Rockies westward. Best wishes,

What a crackpot idea. Sure, sell off the public lands. While you're at it, rent out the Army and Navy. Sell the Air Force, too. Think of the savings!

26.3 ??? Exactly what kind of Marathon was this?
She ran a 10th of a mile farther than me, and still kicked my butt. :-)

Wow! I don't think I've ever been the actual subject of a blog! Thanks!! I ran with 2 work friends - one who also ran his first and only marathon, and the other who was running his 50th (yes, 50th!) marathon - one more left for him to complete 50 states + DC. Incredible experience! Oh yeah...the guy who won it?? Ran the Columbus OH marathon the next day and placed 5th.
